Meteora Sport Climbing Guide

Who doesn’t know them – the conglomerate towers of Meteora. A dream for many climbers: to climb one or even several of these rock formations. However, this was not easy for the pure sport climber, because Meteora requires a great deal of courage and adventurous spirit, as the protection on the respective routes are not always easy and can sometimes be quite precarious.

However, sport climbing has now also found its way to Meteora – this climbing guide is dedicated exclusively to sport climbing routes. The new 2025 edition presents sport climbing routes (single pitches and multi-pitch routes) in Meteora (27 rocks), Theopetra (12 sectors), Sarakina (4 sectors) and Agia Paraskevia (1 sector); a total of 590 routes have now been compiled!

Theopetra is located about 6 km before Meteora and offers limestone for climbing. The climbing guide is clearly laid out and up to date. It provides all the essential information about the area and the routes in two languages. The topos are laid out on colour photos and are very easy to read. A good book for sporty routes in a great setting!
