This, the 110th volume of the Alpine Journal looks particularly at
Kangchenjunga, 50 years after the first ascent, and at the Karakoram, scene of
some of the boldest alpinism in recent years. Other features this year include
Alan Hinkes on his successful ascent of all the worlds 8000m peaks, an
enthralling account by John Harlin III on a new route on Mont Blanc’s
Inominata Arete and appraisals of rock fall and the state of the glaciers in
the European Alps.
