Through candid and revealing conversations, Martel captures the joys, the
motivations and the revelations of top climbers Sonnie Trotter, Sean Isaac,

Prezelj and Barry Blanchard; record-setting paraglider Will Gadd; Everest

Lynn Martel grew up in Montreal and studied creative writing at Concordia
University. Since the 1980s she has lived in the Canadian Rockies, where she
writes about mountain culture and history. Her work has appeared in numerous
