While not known for its sport climbing, Scotland is home to numerous sport
\nroutes of all difficulties from French grade 2 to 9a. Bolted climbs are found
\nacross the country, from the Lowlands to the remote northern Highlands, and on
\nhillsides to sea cliffs. Scottish geology and topography is complex, which has
\nresulted in great variety of rock types and climbs.<\/p>\n
Scotland’s first sport climbing guide is now in its second edition. This
\nselected guide focusses on routes up to a grade of 7a+, which covers the
\nmajority of Scotland’s 1500 sport routes, whilst including the essential
\ninformation for harder climbs. The new style second edition features several
\nrecently developed crags across the country, including in the popular Central
\nBelt, Aberdeenshire, and the northern Highlands.<\/p>\n
This full-colour guide graphically showcases Scotland’s sport climbs and its
\nlandscapes. 1150 climbs are described in full with 146 photographic colour-
\ncoded topos, 66 detailed crag maps, 48 action photographs, and informative
\nicons. Crag location QR barcodes allow smartphone users to simply scan the
\npage for instant mapping and satnav directions. The page layouts and new
\npocket size format is convenient both at the crag and on the move.<\/p>\n
Topher Dagg and Sebastien Rider have climbed extensively in Scotland and
\nfurther afield. Whilst both climbing and developing sport crags in Scotland,
\nthe authors realised the need for a Scottish sport climbing guide. Their aim
\nfor a modern guide was not simply to document the country’s sport routes, but
\nalso highlight Scotland’s spectacular countryside and create a fun guide that
