It is an imposing, steep and rugged mountain, the place of upbringing<br \/>\nof Zeus, of the Cretan wild goats and the unconquered Cretan soul . Trails<br \/>\nclimb from all sides to the highest peak where there is a stone chapel of the<br \/>\nHoly Cross  <\/p>\n<p>Some new hiking trails are depicted on the map &#8211; and the new mountain shelter<br \/>\nin Lakka Mygerou which has become the starting point for the most popular<br \/>\nroute to the top &#8211; along with many other interesting routes on the slopes and<br \/>\ngorges and the surrounding plateaus. There are very interesting ancient sites<br \/>\non Psiloritis such as the two famous caves, Ideon and Kamares, and the<br \/>\narchaeological site of Zominthos &#8211; a Minoan palace that has not yet revealed<br \/>\nall its secrets.
