The guidebook is bilingual in Bulgarian and in English so we hope that our
\nunique rocks in Vratsa will be discovered by climbers from all over the world.
\nThe region has been developing fast as a tourist destination focusing on
\noutdoor activities and rock climbing is probably the most important of them.<\/p>\n
Includes all climbing routes – more than 500 existing on the limestone crags
\nnear Vratsa, of which around 250 are fully equipped with bolts for sport
\nclimbing and the rest are trad, alpine or mixed partially equipped with in-
\nsitu anchors. Length varies from short one-pitch sport and trad routes,
\nthrough several pitches, to the longest ones, of 10 to 13 pitches. The latter
\ngo up the majestic 350-metre high Central Wall. This edition comprises all
\ninformation expanded and updated from the previously published guidebook
\nVratsa Rocks Alpine Routes (Petkov & Maslarov, 1987) as well as recently
\ndeveloped areas and routes.<\/p>\n
For each sector, routes are traced out on photographs; bolted belays are
\nmarked with white-filled circles, and belay points equipped with pitons or
\nneeding temporary protection (nuts, cams) with black-filled ones. Information
\nabout sport-climbing routes includes grade, length, number of quickdraws
\nneeded, year when they were equipped and by whom – but that’s all, so we won’t
\nspoil your on-sight!<\/p>\n
For trad\/alpine routes, you will also find short pitch-by-pitch descriptions
\nand topos. The first ascent date and authors‘ names are given as well. Other
\nimportant dates and events can be included, as well as information about
\nsubsequent re-equipment if such has been made.<\/p>\n
Along with the book you get extended access to up-to-date information on new
