Pathway to the Setting Sun. In December 1994 Richard Ackerley and his brother
Kevin set out to achieve an East West crossing of New Zealand. From the north
Island`s East Cape to the West Cape in Fiordland, by no motive power. The
crossing would take them 133 days to complete. Along the way they would go as
high as possible -the summit of Mount Cook – and as low – down harwood`s Hole.
