Broad Peak

The ascent of Broad Peak, the world’s twelfth highest mountain in 1957 was one
of the most important climbs in the history of mountaineering. Now, for the
first time, the full story of the Broad Peak expedition is told in English.
Using the original climbing diaries of Marcus Schmuck and Fritz Wintersteller,
and previously unpublished material from Herman Buhl, as well as the
recollections of both Kurt Diemberger and Qader Saeed, the team’s Pakistani
