The Aladaglar guidebook details the sports climbing in the Cimbar Valley and
Kazikli Valley, plus some of the big wall alpine routes found at Aladaglar.
The Aladaglar rock climbing area is located in the northern part of the Taurus
mountain range, and it covers a vast area, stretching over 25km wide by 40 km
long. There are more than 60 peaks over 3,000m high, the highest being
Demirkazik at 3,756m. This area is described as the most beautiful climbing
region in Turkey and it offers everything from sports, traditional and alpine
rock climbing.
This guidebook describes all the sports climbing to be found at the Aladaglar
area of the Taurus Mountains in Turkey. The two main sports climbing areas are
the Cimbar Valley and the Kazikli Valley, where over 200 routes are described
in this guidebook. Also included are some big wall alpine style routes on the
mountains such as Demirkazik and Parmakkaya, which are up to 650m long.
The start of each sports climbing area is a location map, and a general
description of the rock climbing to be found at each crag. For the longer
alpine style routes these are described individually along with the best
approach and where to camp. All the routes are shown, topo style on good clear
photographs, with French grades, route length and the number of bolts. The
guidebook also has many excellent action photographs showing the fantastic
climbing in this beautiful area.
This guidebook describes all the sport climbing to be found at the Aladaglar area of the Taurus Mountains in Turkey. The three main sport climbing areas are the limestone crags at Cimbar Valley and Pinarbasi Canyon, plus the conglomerate crags in the Kazikli Valley. . Also included are some big wall alpine style routes on the mountains such as Demirkazik and the famous Parmakkaya pinnacle. These multi-pitch routes are up to 650m long, with many routes between 200m and 400m long. In total there are over 450 sport routes and 65 multi-pitch routes are described in this guidebook, along with 12 of the best trekking routes, and 8 of the best ski touring routes.
The start of each sport climbing area is a location map, and a general description of the rock climbing to be found at each crag. All of the sport routes are shown on colour photo topos, with French grades, route length and the number of bolts.
For the longer alpine style routes these are described individually along with the best approach and where to camp. All the routes are shown on either colour photo topos or hand drawn topos. The majority of these routes are bolted but some Trad gear is required, which is detailed in the description.
