Medio y alto VInalopó-Foia de Castalla-Ontinyent-Caudete
Climbing guide in Alicante
Climbing guide in Alicante in the area of
Medio and Alto Vinalopó, Foia de Castalla and Ontinyent. In this edition, which replaces the old climbing guide for the Middle and Upper Vinalopó, new climbing areas have been included, some of which have been recently created and are very popular due to their easy access and proximity to the towns.
Manuel Amat, José Francisco Hernández and Juan Pedro Verdú, the authors of this guide, have compiled all the information and data available on the following climbing areas: Foradà, El Xaquetó (Gatxamiga), Penya Muntesa (Rasos de Catí), l’Almadrava, El Cid, Penya del Corb (Espolón), Penyes de Gorrit (Càrdenes), Peñas de Marín, Cabreras – Peñas del Rey – Cumbre y Zona del Búho, Alto Don Pedro (Salinas), Peña Bastañ, Sierra de Enmedio (La Escuela), Peña Rubia, Barranc de Sanxet, Reconco, Penyes Roges (Onil), Barranco de los Molinos – Penya Almarra, and Barranc de l’Avern (Ontinyent).
After a brief introduction to the region and its history, geology, flora, fauna, practical information, and maps and general location plans, the climbing areas are described. The sectors are shown with a multitude of colour photographs on which the routes and their grading are traced. Specific symbols complete the information on the type of equipment, whether it is overhanging or vertical, whether there are restrictions, whether it is artificial, whether it is a multi-pitch route, whether it is sunny or shaded, etc.
