An educational and inspiring DVD for all those wanting to ski off piste – the
film is produced by Plas y Brenin in association with the BMC and the
Mountaineering Council of Scotland. Filmed entirely in Austria, the skills
covered illustrate a progression through off piste skiing to multi-day ski
tours and ski mountaineering in glaciated terrain, and are appropriate to
skiers and boarders of all standards. The DVD also contains a range of
technical chapters which expand upon the topics covered in the film, including
equipment, skinning uphill, snow sense, using a rope, crevasse rescue,
avalanche survival plus much more.
